Dr. Ryan Diel joins Meadows Eye after completing his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.The University of Iowa ophthalmology training program consistently ranks in the top 10 training programs nationwide, and is among the most competitive programs due to the rigor of the medical and surgical training.

Dr. Diel grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, and completed his undergraduate training at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.During and after college Dr. Diel was deeply involved in the Las Vegas Valley community, working as a lifeguard for the City of Henderson, a substitute teacher for the Clark County School District, and a clinical instructor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

He had the opportunity to attend medical school at the world-renowned University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, where he earned his M.D. degree and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor society where he served as Co-President.

After completing his internship and ophthalmology residency in Iowa, Dr. Diel and his family decided to return to their roots in the beautiful Las Vegas Valley to join Meadows Eye.Dr. Diel is a comprehensive ophthalmologist taking care of patients with all varieties of ophthalmic disease.He specializes in complex cataract surgeries and cutting-edge technology for intraocular lens implants.

In his free time, he enjoys sports, outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife, young son, and newborn baby.He is looking forward to perfecting his golf game now that he is back in the Las Vegas Valley!
